The Field is a 1990 Irish drama film written and directed by Jim Sheridan and starring Richard Harris, John Hurt, Sean Bean, Brenda Fricker and Tom Berenger. It was adapted from John B. Keane's 1965 play of the same name. The film is set in the early 1930s and was shot almost entirely in the Connemara village of Leenaun.

A psychological thriller based upon true events from 1973, The Fields recently picked up the prize for Best Feature at the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival and has also picked up a distribution deal with Fabrication Films.
The original score, by John Avarese, ramps up the film’s tension even when nothing sinister happens. First time feature scribe Harrison Smith shows a great deal of imagination in his well-pace horror thriller that does not rely on a body count to scare you.
