The snowiest season of Fortnite is here! That's right, it's time for Winterfest in Fortnite, which means daily gifts and special Winterfest quests to complete for tons of winter holiday-themed rewards. This also means that good ol' Sgt. Winter has returned to the island.
This jolly old soldier is a Winterfest original, returning every year to Fortnite to deliver presents... literally! Sgt. Winter often drives a truck around the Fortnite island, throwing massive presents onto the ground that can be broken open to find loot inside.
This year however, Sgt. Winter cannot be found on the Fortnite island. Instead, you will find Sgt. Winter in a more hidden location. On this page of IGN's Fortnite guide, you can find out where to find Sgt. Winter and the location of the Winterburg landmark' in Fortnite.
Only during Fortnite's holiday Winterfest limited-time event, you can find Winterburg, a holiday-themed island off the north coast of the island. While it might not appear on your map, you can see the Winterburg island not far northeast from the Cloistered Castle landmark, or northwest of Classy Courts.
Winterburg is a small landmark on the far north side of the map in Season 5, with five buildings surrounding an icy pond with a Rebot Van and Christmas tree in the middle. In addition to finding plenty of loot on the ground and Loot Chests here, you can also find Sgt. Winter at Winterburg!
Sgt. Winter is a Character that has only appeared for Fortnite Winterfest 2023. You can find Sgt. Winters patrolling the iced over pond in the center of Winterburg, near the big Christmas tree and the Reboot Van.
As Sgt. Winter walks around the ice, he will randomly throw down giant presents. Break open the cardboard walls of these giant presents and inside you will find loot! Collecting an item from inside one of Sgt. Winter's giant presents is an objective you will need to complete for the limited-time Ship It! Express quests available during Winterfest 2023.
Sgt. Winter is indeed on the map but he’s on an unmarked Christmas themed island that you can’t find except by accident or by being told by someone where it is. You can’t interact with him besides shooting him and nothing in the game steers you to this island.
