- Beavertail Cactus (Optunia basilaris) Beavertail is a prickly pear cactus with pads that are mostly blue-green. It grows to about 20 inches high and up to 6 feet wide.
- Blue Flame Cactus (Myrtillocactus geometrizans) Blue flame cactus is also known as bilberry cactus, garambullo, or whortleberry. It can grow to 15 feet high and 6 to 10 feet wide.
- Candelabra Cactus (Myrtillocactus cochal) Candelabra cacti can reach about 10 feet tall and wide. Their cup-shaped flowers open during the day and close in the evening; the fruits are edible, although somewhat acidic.

- Angel Wings Cactus. The Opunta albispina cactus, also known as an angel wing cactus or bunny ears cactus is a member of the prickly pear family that grows evenly spaced clusters of hairs rather than sharp spines.
- Rat Tail Cactus. If your sunniest window does not have the space to accommodate a container, the fantastic Aporocactus flagelliformis or rat tail cactus is good for indoor hanging baskets.

- Prickly Pear Cactus (Opuntia spp.) Botanical Name: Opuntia spp. Mature Size: Varies by species can range from small to large. Bloom Time: Spring to early summer.
- Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera spp.) Botanical Name: Schlumbergera spp. Mature Size: Compact, typically around 1-2 feet. Bloom Time: Late fall to early winter.
