June Louise Squibb (born November 6, 1929) is an American character actress. She began her career making her Broadway debut in the musical Gypsy (1959). Her first film role was in the 1990 romantic comedy Alice by Woody Allen.
The two were neighbors for 30 years and it was Martindale who approached Squibb about pursuing the role in Nebraska (2013), that would lead to her Oscar nomination, after Martindale had read the script and loved the part but, at age 62, was too young for the role.
