Sint-Truiden (Dutch pronunciation: [sɪnˈtrœydə(n)] ⓘ; French: Saint-Trond [sɛ̃ tʁɔ̃]; Limburgish: Sintruin [sɪnˈtʀœjn]) [tone?] is a city and municipality located in the province of Limburg, Flemish Region, Belgium, and has over 41,500 inhabitants, which makes it one of the largest cities in Limburg.

The beguinage of Sint-Truiden is located outside the former city walls but within walking distance of the centre. We had no difficulty finding it with the map provided by the tourist office. Having visited several Unesco World Heritage beguinages in Belgium we were eager to see this one, which once housed more than 200 unmarried or widowed women.
