The Last Chance of Iowa fared about as well as its counterpart in Oklahoma. Here, the sole remaining sign of its existence was a cemetery. I found additional Last Chance settlements in Idaho, California and North Carolina. However, even less information existed about any of them. It seemed that every Last Chance was down to its last chance if any of them ever had a chance at all.

Twelvemile Lake is a crystal-clear alpine lake with a gorgeous mountain backdrop that sees very little traffic. This remote lake requires some work to reach. Either you'll have to drive deep into the mountains via a rough 4x4 road to reach the trailhead, or you'll have to hike many miles from the closest two-wheel-drive trailhead.

If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Take a hike on the Camp Crockett Trail, and don't leave without popping by Pueblo State Park. If you come to this campground, you will have a nice time for sure.
