Jun 20, 2018 · We just picked up our 29RLDS and the dealer put on the Equal-i-zer Hitch. When we got home, I couldn't swing out the spring bars. They were so tight that I had to pull them away from the hitched position using my Kabota tractor. I would assume, this is not normal.

May 22, 2011 · If the trailer just moves around a little then that is normal. Also, I do not think that the 1000lb and 1200lb bars are interchangeable on the same hitch head. Measure the diameter of the bars to double check that they are the same width. The bars should fit like a glove inside the sockets.
Sep 16, 2014 · The amount of pressure on the surface between the bar sockets and hitch head is much higher than the pressure on the ends of the L brackets just as Ron indicated. According to the manufacturer, this interface between the bar sockets and the hitch head is the main sway preventing force of the hitch.

Apr 15, 2015 · IMO one significant drawback to the Equal-i-zer system is that each spring bar will only fit the head designed for that weight rating ... change spring bars and you gotta change the head, meaning you might as well sell the entire unit and buy another with the correct weight rating.
