Apr 30, 2023 · Hey folks, I have been offered a used Tascam DM 4800, seller says that everything is working. It has a IF-AN/DM card also. Any tips on what to check for when I go to inspect the item next week? I will (Hopefully) be using it with an iMac on High Sierra and Logic.
Jun 12, 2017 · Very versatile and can do many things. My main complaint is that the screens go wiggy but can be replaced with a part order from Tascam. So check the screen!!! A company named "2Seemy" make a Graphics card so you can display your screen on an external monitor.
Tascam has a hell worse than navigating all the rest. The DDX on the other hand was really an example of functionality that the Tascam 4800 is inspired and is a real plus for them. The manual is enough to know that some digital and menu and submenus.
Feb 3, 2013 · DM4800+X48+RA1000. Jan 25, 2023. #1. I am sorry to say I am giving up on my DM. I have loved this board since I took it out of the box. Used mainly as an interface/control surface for pro tools. I have upgraded my Mac to an M2 silicone.
Nov 14, 2012 · When the Tascam DM4800 eventually dies (Because unfortunately all equipment does eventually what is a good option to replace it? Is the new Sonicview 24 an option although it seems to lack DAW control? Are there better options anybody has gone for or considered going for?
Oct 11, 2012 · #1. I have the DM-4800 mixer running through the firewire ad/da converter card. I use the board for automation, transport controls in Sonar X2, and for tracking (rarely for mixing). Right now I do not have the if-an/dm analog expansion card, and I am using lots of outboard mic pres/compressors.
Oct 25, 2012 · I have a separate computer room close enough to use a 4.5 meter cable, which should technically be fine for the DM4800 with the IF-FW/DM MkII. However, it proved to be occasionally unstable until I installed a FW repeater, which completely eliminated that issue.
