Lillian Moss was a suffragist and the former love interest of Emily Grace. Lillian was disowned by her family because she refused to marry "the man they picked out for me". It is revealed quite early on that she is lesbian, and that she is extremely attracted to Dr. Emily Grace.
After her death, Lillian's true identity is revealed to be Helen Walker. When Helen's affair with a married woman, Gladys, was discovered by Gladys' husband, Joe, the women were lured onto a boat, where Joe attempted to kill Helen.
