The Sylvia Young Theatre School was founded in 1972 with part-time classes in East London. It was established as a full-time school in 1981 on Drury Lane, but due to expansion it moved to a former 1880’s church school building in Rossmore Road, Marylebone in 1983.
Sylvia Young Theatre School - Holiday Courses. Under the supervision of Sylvia Young OBE, our holiday courses are taken by both teachers from our full-time school and also by professionals from the theatre world. The emphasis of our classes is on vocational development with good training.
