I have the murata 135mm wa petty. Same thing, the Kurouchi was mostly gone after a year so I just scrubbed it off some acetone And sanded the blade. Other than the issues with the fit and finish, it’s a great knife. At that size though, A western style handle makes much more sense than a wa handle.

What do people think of Takeo Murata's Buho Range. This seems like an affordable and available range of japanese knives in the UK (a rare combination indeed). After importing a Tojiro nakiri of questionable quality I feel stick to things I can return easily and I am more sure will be a good knife.
Takeo Murata, a renowned knife maker from Kochi, learned his craft from his uncle Tokaiji. His knives are highly regarded in Japan, bearing the kanji "Made by Buhou." Murata's skill and artistry make his knives some of the best available.
