The Jeweller's Shop (Italian: La bottega dell'orefice) is a 1988 Italian-Austrian-Canadian-German drama film based on The Jeweler's Shop, a play written by Karol Józef Wojtyła (Pope John Paul II) and scripted by Jeff Andrus, starring Burt Lancaster and Olivia Hussey, directed by Michael Anderson.
Based on Pope John Paul II's best-selling book, this film tells of the struggles and triumphs in the marriages of three couples. A mysterious Jeweller (Burt Lancaster) acts as a mystical advisor to the couples, encouraging them to keep love at the center of their lives.
At a shop that sells wedding rings, a jeweler (Burt Lancaster) witnesses both the birth of new love and the trials that long-married couples encounter.
