Stinson began his teaching career in Burns Lake and then returned to the Greater Victoria area where he would spend the next thirty-six years in public education. Stinson taught at the elementary, middle and secondary levels followed by administrative positions as District Curriculum Coordinator, Vice Principal, Principal and District Principal.
