Steamrip is safe. AV will often show false positives for cracked games. Running as admin, probably not necessary. I'd try running it without admin first, bet it works.

ive been using steamrip a while with no issues. Have you done any virus scans? it could be an unrelated issue (maybe you don't have much storage left? Background processes taking all your RAM?)
