Dmitry Borisovich Zimin (Russian: Дмитрий Борисович Зимин; 28 April 1933 – 22 December 2021) was a Russian radio scientist and businessman, who was the founder and honorary president of VimpelCom. From his retirement in the early 2000s, he became known as a philanthropist.
Boris Zimin has seven children. His first wife is Lyudmila Zakharova (1992-1997), and his second is Ella Zimina (1997-2009, three children were born in this marriage). He married his third wife, Yulia Prokhorova, in 2012. Since 2004, Boris Zimin lived in London and later moved to the United States. Since 2020 lives in Israel.
The Zimin Foundation is a philanthropic organization established by the entrepreneur and engineer Dr Dmitry Borisovich Zimin (1933–2021) and his son Boris Zimin, with the aim of advancing science and education for the benefit of humanity.
