Nov 21, 2019 · “Nightly Business Report” will cease production after Dec. 27. The announcement was made by CNBC, the current owner. NBR, which celebrated its 40 th anniversary last January, pioneered daily business news on television.
CNBC enjoyed producing Nightly Business Report for the past five years. We made the difficult business decision to end our production of NBR at the end of 2019. The last program aired on December 27.

The program also announced the complete closing of its Chicago bureau, leaving it with staff reporters only in New York and Washington, D.C. Of the terminated employees, NBR Managing Editor Tom Hudson said, "I consider it an honor to call them colleagues."
