Dec 16, 2016 · Consider that “ Collateral Beauty” features two Oscar winners (Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren), three Oscar nominees (Will Smith, Keira Knightley and Edward Norton) and a current Golden Globe nominee, as well as a likely future Oscar contender (Naomie Harris of “Moonlight”) in a pear tree.
Collateral Beauty isn't bad, but it's also not as memorable as would be fitting for the acclaimed ensemble. There are occasional moments of humor, thanks to the gifted actors, but there's no getting around the fact that the story is treacly sweet.

I really liked that each individual character (Kate Winslet, Edward Norton) interacted with the actors: Norton is looking for Love so he talks to Kiera Knightly. It's not too in your face and it worked fine. The biggest issue is execution.
