Michael P. Murphy was born on the 7 May 1976, in Smith Town, New York. His father, Daniel Maureen, served during the war on Vietnam, whereas his mother is a former assistant district attorney. While attending Saxton Middle School, he was a regular feature in youth soccer and football teams.
Songwriting success. After graduating from W. H. Adamson High School in Oak Cliff, Murphey studied Greek at the University of North Texas. As a member of the institution's Folk Music Club, he befriended Steven Fromholz, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Shiva's Headband fiddler Spencer Perskin and Armadillo World Headquarters co-founder Eddie Wilson.

Michael Murphy was born and raised in Suffolk County, New York. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with honors and dual degrees in political science and psychology. After college he accepted a commission in the United States Navy and became a United States Navy SEAL in July 2002.
