  4. In terms of appearance of the characters, Richard Dysart as Copper sporting a nose ring in 1982 certainly stunned me! I was completely unaware an alternate ending had been shot and am grateful it wasn’t used.

  5. Amusingly, a nose ring used to mean "I am someone's slave, and this is how they pull me around". More amusingly, tattoos/piercings used to be a sign of nonconformity, and now they are the opposite.

Of course it's all left to the imagination, but I like to think Copper had some Carter Burke type plan to get a sample of this thing back to the Ruskies, right up until Norris ...
