Strange New Worlds is set about a decade before, but actor Adrian Holmes was in his late forties in the first season. Notably, he is a year younger than Anson Mount. Ascended Extra: He had previously appeared in the Star Trek: The Animated Series episode "The Counter Clock Incident".
Its 5 year mission: To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before. The theme song is no slouch either, taking elements of the Original Series theme and updating them with an orchestra.
Funny Moments. K - Pop, now In the Original Klingon. Being Lighter and Softer than its sister shows, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has much more lighthearted comedy to enjoy.
However, Pike has more pressing concerns - Una Chin-Riley, his Number One, is still in prison for breaking the No Transhumanism Allowed rule. Una seems willing to suffer for her failure, but Pike is not willing to let his precious second-in-command rot in jail.
Compared to Picard and Discovery, Strange New Worlds comes across as lighter, even optimistic, harking back to The Original Series and how it embodied the humanity's dreams of space travel.
