  2. Dec 1, 2021 · Recover your files from the .bak files: Located in Terraria's default save location which is \Documents\My Games\Terraria you should see a worlds and player folder. Click on whichever folder that applies to you and see if there are any .bak files of your old or missing characters.

  4. Find the [world name].wld for the broken world and delete it. Then, rename its [world name].wld.bak to remove the "bak" off the end. Launch Terraria, and try loading the world.

  5. Feb 3, 2019 · If a world or player file is corrupted it will show up as "blank" or "unkown" in game. Attempting to load the file anyways, will most likely crash the game. Corrupted world and player files are still visible and present in the file explorer of your OS.

  6. I believe unfortunately, your world file has corrupted. This same thing happened to me, and If i recall correctly, your file corrupted. Go into file explorer, my games, steam, terraria, and my worlds. If there is no terraria world file, then its been corrupted.
