Schedule. The 2018 Breakthrough Prize Symposium takes place on December 4, 2017, at Stanford University. Daytime Sessions | Short talks (9:00 AM – 4:30 PM) Arrillaga Alumni Center McCaw Hall Stanford University The names of the 2018 Breakthrough Prize laureates will be announced at a televised award ceremony the day before the Symposium.
Breakthrough Prize laureates are honored at an annual awards ceremony broadcast globally. In addition, some ceremony events have included symposiums featuring lectures and discussions with Breakthrough Prize laureates and leading scientists from across the world.
Symposiums. The annual Breakthrough Prize celebration has included symposiums in the three recognized fields sponsored by UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco and Stanford University. The program has featured lectures by Breakthrough Prize laureates and other renowned scientists, as well as moderated panel discussions aimed at the general public.
