Willie Howard Mays Jr. (May 6, 1931 – June 18, 2024), nicknamed "the Say Hey Kid", was an American professional baseball center fielder who played 23 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Willie Mays played 22 seasons for the Giants and Mets. He had a .302 batting average, 3,283 hits, 660 home runs, 1,903 RBIs and 2,062 runs scored. He won 11 Gold Glove awards, 2 MVP awards, the Rookie of the Year award and 1 World Series. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1979.
