Albert Anthony Iafrate (/ ˌ aɪ. ə ˈ f r eɪ t iː / EYE-ə-FRAY-tee; born March 21, 1966) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the National Hockey League between 1984 and 1998.
Apr 18, 2017 · Iafrate's Skullet. Al Iafrate spent most of his 14 year career with the Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals. He was most recognized for his hard slap shot, but any hockey fan would remember him for his 'Skullet'. A mix between a mullet, and a bald mans shiner.

Feb 6, 2022 · Another magical moment was the hardest shot competition where we saw Washington Capitals defenceman Al Iafrate and his infamous “skullet” win the event with an incredible display of power topping 105.2 mph. Remember, composite sticks weren’t a thing yet in those days.
- Al Iafrate. There it is. The man went with an absolute bowling bowl look on top with flow in the front and back. The fact that Al had the guts to rock this look says a lot about him as a person.
- Jaromir Jagr. This one realistically is the nicest in NHL history, but unfortunately it just misses the cut for being the most epic. There’s nothing much to say about this one other than Jags looked like an absolute stud while rocking this puppy back in the nineties.
- Michal Handzus. Put some RESPECT on Michal Hanfzus’ lettuce. If you want to talk about a true mullet, look no further than our guy Michael. What, is that a raccoon on the back of his head?
- Barry Melrose. A lot of people are going to argue this one should be at the top, but it’s not quite there. Barry rocked one of the most crisp mullies in NHL history behind the bench and brought it to television screens, too.
