You need to allow yourself 5 hours or more to walk all trails and really explore. You will see huge loblolly pine trees, huge waterfront live oaks, palmettos, and get to explore a unique swamp. There is a long boardwalk through the swamp and it is absolutely beautiful and full of life.

Goose Creek State Park is located just a few miles east of Washington on the Pamlico River. The park features 8 miles of hiking trails, a campground, picnic sites, and a beach for swimming. We visited in the fall when the colors were changing and it was quite beautiful.
