  5. Dr. Nina Jones, Canada Research Chair in Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Disease, seeks to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms that underpin this information exchange. In particular, she and her research team are focusing on intracellular adaptor proteins in kidney disease, cancers and neurological disorders.

  6. Dr. Jones' current areas of research are: signalling pathways in kidney podocytes, cell migration pathways in cardiovascular development, and characterization of a novel neuronal adaptor protein, ShcD. Research in Jones' laboratory is focused on defining eukaryotic signal transduction pa...

  7. Aug 12, 2016 · Jones, a professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, recently received a five-year grant worth almost $750,000 from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to support her research. She studies podocytes, the cells responsible for that filtering activity in the kidney.
