At Academy of the Holy Names in Albany, students are encouraged to explore their interests without inhibition, to voice their thoughts, participate actively and confidently in class discussions and take on leadership roles.
The Albany Academy (founded in 1813) and Albany Academy for Girls (founded in 1814) have illustrious histories and many notable graduates. In 2013 and 2014 we celebrated the Bicentennial of both schools and ushered in our third century of excellence in education.

The Albany Academy is an independent college preparatory day school for boys in Albany, New York. It enrolls students from Preschool (age 3) to Grade 12. It was established in 1813 by a charter signed by Mayor Philip Schuyler Van Rensselaer and the city council of Albany.
