WIC (Western International Communications Ltd), controlled by the families of the late Frank Griffiths and Charles Allard, is one of Western Canada's largest media companies. Its broadcasting holdings include 11 radio stations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Hamilton, and Toronto.
Originally called Western Broadcasting, it grew to include several radio and television stations in the Lower Mainland and the OKANAGAN VALLEY by 1977. In 1985 it took the WIC name and went public with the sale of 6.25 million shares worth $50 million.
