2. Go Kayaking in Deep Cove
My #1 activity recommendation in Deep Cove is to go kayaking. You can rent a kayak and go solo from Deep Cove Kayaks (aptly named), or go on a tour. I recommend this tour if, like me, you have 0 navigational abilities on the water and also want to learn about the history of the area from a local guide. This is hands down my favourite place for lunch and dinner in Deep Cove. Arms Reach also does brunch but I never made it down as we were usually off hiking or I had work calls. Do yourself a favour and try the mussels in the coconut curry sauce!
Honey Doughnuts & Goodies
Breakfast is delicious at this little cafe. I got the gluten free breakfast sandwich a few times and was always delighted to be able to get something safe and filling. It’s not one of those miniscule gluten free bagels either, it was proper sized and delicious. They also do amazing lattes. If you aren’t celiac like me, definitely get their donuts!
Osaka Sushi
I didn’t have high hopes when I had a sushi craving and saw Osaka was nearby, but it blew me away! The fish was so fresh and, although they do spicy rolls differently than Ontario(we usually premix the spicy mayo with the fish, although we also add tempura often which sucks for me, and they drizzle it on top – but it has way less mayo in it), it was so good. I ordered conservatively (for me) by getting a spicy tuna roll, a ton of sushi, and some miso.

Parking in Deep Cove
It is very hard to find parking in Deep Cove, especially while they renovate the downtown streets. The few on street spaces are taken up by patios because of the construction. Instead, you can park in the Panorama Drive lot for up to 3 hours or Myrtle Park’s lot. You may find some side street parking for free as well, but check the signs for permit requirements and time limits, as you could get towed.
By Bus
There are two routes via bus from Vancouver to Deep Cove: Line 210 + 211 and Line 210 + 212. The Line 211 route takes 45 minutes and starts at Translink stop Eastbound W Pender St @ Granville. You’ll take to Phibbs Exchange @ Bay 9 (look for bus 210 going to Upper Lynn Valley). You’ll switch to the 211 to Seymour. The 212 route runs from EB W St @ Burrard St (the 210 bus to Upper Lynn Valley) to Phibbs Exchange. Then you connect to the 212 to Deep Cove. It also takes 45 minutes. This is a Zon...
