   What is the history of Mount Pleasant Cemetery?

   • History: Organized in March 1851 as Mount Pleasant Burial Ground. In November 1872 a strip was added on the north side and the name was changed to Fairplains Burial Ground. Purchased by Fairplains Burial Association, with initial group led by Foster Tucker, president and Erastus Knapp, treasurer.
