Most (but not all) pronunciation transcriptions are available for free on Oxford Reference OED*, but not definitions or etymology. OALD appears to continue to be available. UPDATE: Pronunciations appear to have been removed from the gratis parts of Oxford Reference, but are now available on the OED since the July 2023 revamp of the site.

Yes, you can still access the definitions freely online, since apparently Google and Bing are still licensed to provide them. Lexico had more example sentences, and sadly I don't think they are available anywhere else. No other dictionary has examples quite like that. As you noted, there are also mobile apps (iOS and Android). I may have used the Android one but I honestly don't remember much about it. The reviews seem to be very mixed.
Lastly, many of the pages (but not all) were backed up by archivers like archive.org. For the best chance to find an archive, it's important to remember all the renames the site went through: 1. lexico.com 2. oxforddictionaries.com(can't get it to list all the definitions) 3. en.oxforddictionaries.com
Resource Request. From Lexico.com : Starting August 26, we will be closing the Lexico.com website and redirecting it to Dictionary.com. Lexico was my go-to website when I wanna look up words in Oxford Dictionary.
Wikipedia's notes have some information about this, and I've found this page: https://languages.oup.com/why-has-oxford-dictionaries-changed/ So I guess the idea was that dictionary.com deals with taking over the free web service (and I see empty white squares on lexico.com, so I guess there are ads), while OUP focuses on selling an API.

Feb 18, 2015 · The site www.lexico.com which until recently provided excellent definitions (for free) from the Oxford Dictionary is basically gone. The owner (dictionary.com) now show their own page, and not surprisingly, it's nowhere near as good! The Cambridge Dictionary is, thankfully, still freely available online. www.dictionary.cambridge.com.
