We open at a large estate in allied-occupied Germany in 1944. The building has been captured by the advancing American Army and is now the headquarters of a Regimental staff. We see a Willys jeep arriving with an American officer at the wheel. This is Captain Beau Carter, played by 39-year old Irish-born actor Stephen Boyd.
Pryor and Williams star in this low budget movie as leaders of an all-black outfit assigned to a suicide mission behind Nazi lines during WWII. Their force wreaks havoc and earns them the respect of military higher-ups.
