Bridgwater is a historic market town and civil parish in Somerset, England. The town had a population of 41,276 at the 2021 census. [1] Bridgwater is at the edge of the Somerset Levels, in level and well-wooded country.

Bridgwater is a small town located some 37 miles (60 km) south of Bristol and 10 miles (21 km) from the mouth of the River Parrett. Until the river silted up Bridgwater was quite a busy port and the town retains its old quays, a canal link to Taunton and a reputation for industrial enterprise.

The West Quay on the River Parrett, as well as Castle Street and King Square, are all lined with flat-fronted Georgian townhouses from that time.
