Jul 16, 2016 · Bad production,bad acting,ridiculous plot!If Lauglin did get this movie released in 1977, people would have been walking out on it! Even the obligatory fight scene tossed in, was terrible. Pacifist Jean turned into a karate fighter,alonside Billy.
Apr 16, 1977 · Long scenes that helped the flow of the film and made it less --well, "Billy Jack-ish" had been cut. If Laughlin had used the cut I saw nearly thirty years ago, the film would still have worked. Instead it has become a mess.

SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON with BJ in the main role, was never released, apparently because the Washington establishment found it too threatening (and the fact that it was a lousy movie). A similar fate befell THE RETURN OF BILLY JACK (1986), although that film goes unmentioned in this book.
