  3. its 20km one way from port chambers to tunnel beach (40km return) over some hills and not recommended. you would be best to do a tour or taxi. once you get to the carpark its a downhill hike to tunnel beach and then uphill hike after. i dont recommend the dunedin cycleway loop - its a very average ride - but excellent if you using the trail for commuting.

Heaps of great riding around Dunedin and easily accessible from the CBD, my view is probably a bit skewed as I ride more trail/enduro tracks but personally I would say an XC bike would be a bit more suited than a gravel bike, but there is still plenty of gravel to ride if you are looking for it.
