  2. Dec 9, 2011 · Development has stopped! Please use PMCSkin3D, the successor to this desktop app. It works on every OS! Don't install to Program Files! Recommended installation directory is C:/MCSkin3D/. If you used Legacy version previously, please update to 1.6! It should work for you now.

Oct 28, 2011 · Another useful thing to point out is that MCSkin3D is also a skin management program, letting you easily store your skins in a safe place (separate from your main "skins" folder you may have elsewhere on your harddrive), and also let you directly upload to Minecraft.net in the click of one button. -P.

    You'll spend most of your time in creative mode but there are two other main app modes located in the upper right of the application. 1. Creative Mode: Allows you to paint on 3D models from Minecraft. 2. Pose Model Mode : Allows you to pose the 3D Model by grabbing pivot points. Skin posing guide

    Brushes are used to paint on the 3D model. By default, you are provided with a set of basic brushes including pixel, square, circle and triangle.

    Color palettes allow quick access to a set of colors. A good color palette includes color ramps that include a specific range of colors that work well together. Any custom palettes you create will be saved on your local device for future use!

    You can toggle the visibility of the body and armor by clicking the above the desired set. You can toggle individual parts by clicking the desired part.

  4. MCSkin3D requires that you have the .NET Framework version 4.0 installed, and at the moment is only compiled for Windows (sorry Mac/Linux users, but I can't stand Java). It may still have some tiny issues, and is quickly evolving and taking on a life of its own.

Beyond that, you could use Minersneedcoolshoes (doesn’t feature an alex version, from when I last checked it out), or an editing program like gimp or minecraft.net in extremely dire circumstances.
