The Royal Canadian Mint (French: Monnaie royale canadienne) is the mint of Canada and a Crown corporation, operating under the Royal Canadian Mint Act. The shares of the Mint are held in trust for the Crown in right of Canada. The Mint produces all of Canada's circulation coins, [3] and manufactures circulation coins on behalf of other nations.

Operating since 1908, the Royal Canadian Mint is one of the world's most respected manufacturers. The mint's Ottawa location makes coins for collectors, many of which commemorate important people and events in Canada's history. It is open daily, year round.

The Winnipeg facility produces circulation coins while the Ottawa facility produces numismatic products. To make coins, the metal is mixed in a melting pot and cast into bars.
