The second Legislative Building was a two-storey structure that housed the chamber and offices of the Legislative Assembly and the offices of the five departments of the Executive Government. It was built by the federal government of white brick and stone quarried near Selkirk, between 1882 and March 1883, at a cost of $200,000.
