No one I knew left Virginia Tech after the shooting. In fact, the year following the shooting was VT's highest number of applicants ever. Ironically, for me, one of the reasons I chose Virginia Tech was because of safety - it is in the middle of nowhere. Following the tragedy, I felt safer than I ever have in my life.
