History and heritage. Founded in the 15th century, St Andrews is Scotland's first university and the third oldest in the English speaking world. Teaching began in the community of St Andrews in 1410, and the University was formally constituted by the issue of a papal bull in 1413.

The Gateway. The Gateway is an ideal venue for conferences, featuring contemporary design, state-of-the-art lecture theatres and breakout spaces. It is in a practical location at one of the entrances to the historic town of St Andrews. The main meeting room can accommodate up to 144 delegates, and it can be divided into two spaces if required.
