Nigel played Saturday Night (from his album Changing Tides) and All I Want Is You, in the middle of Elton’s set on the 1980 tour…the only time Elton has regularly given the stage to a band member during one of his tours.

Moving to Los Angeles in 1983, he continued to play and study music. John has studied with David Garibaldi, Robert Edwards and at the Dick Grove School of Music along with many other teachers around the globe. As a singer and drummer, John was featured with the band Windows and went from there to record and tour with Peter White.
In late 1973, Ray joined Elton’s stage band and played at his Christmas shows at the Hammersmith Odeon. The following month he joined the band full-time in Colorado for the album Caribou . A tour followed, and Ray immediately won fans over with his rambunctious stage persona, tambourine-tossing and a duck call solo on Honky Cat , often getting the biggest applause during the band introductions.
Noel and Davey then formed the band Draught Porridge in 1969. In 1970 Davey played on the album Seasons by Magna Carta and in 1971 joined that group as second guitarist. Their next album, Songs From Wasties Orchard (named after the street Davey lived on), was helmed by Elton’s producer, Gus Dudgeon.
