Ted Childs. Ted Childs served as the Academy’s Chair from 1994-5. During his tenure he successfully dealt with a financial crisis that threatened the future of the Academy. In 1998 he was awarded the BAFTA Alan Clarke Award for Outstanding Creative Contribution to Television.
