Paul Schofield (born c. 1895, in Norfolk, Virginia) was an American screenplay writer who worked on 44 films between 1920 and 1940, some directed by famous directors such as D. W. Griffith, John Ford, Archie Mayo, Frank Lloyd, and Herbert Brenon.

Also appearing are Nigel Davenport , Leo McKern , Corin Redgrave , Vanessa Redgrave and, in one of his earliest screen roles, John Hurt .

Sep 3, 2023 · LONDON – The great actor Paul Scofield, 1966 Oscar-winner for “A Man For All Seasons,” has died. He was 86. Reuters says he died peacefully at a hospital near his home in southern England, quoting his agent Rosalind Chato: “He had leukemia and had not been well for some time.”
