Director, crítico y profesor cinematográfico. Tras cursar durante tres años estudios de Medicina en la Universidad Central de Madrid, en 1935 decidió abandonar la carrera para poder así dedicar todo su tiempo a la que para entonces ya sabía que era su auténtica vocación: el cine.
