Robert William Pickton (October 24, 1949 – May 31, 2024), also known as the Pig Farmer Killer or the Butcher, was a Canadian serial killer and pig farmer. After dropping out of school, he left a butcher's apprenticeship to begin working full-time at his family's pig farm, and inherited it in the early 1990s.

The Pig Farm. When police showed up at a Port Coquitlam pig farm in February of 2002 to serve a firearm warrant to Robert Pickton, they stumbled upon one of the grizzliest discoveries in the history of Canada.
- Pickton Pig Farm. Robert William “Willie” Pickton was born in 1949. He was raised on a family-owned pig farm in Port Coquitlam, BC. Pickton ran a small livestock operation there.
- Disappearances from the Downtown Eastside. Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside is known for its high rates of poverty, homelessness, open drug use and prostitution.
- Missed Opportunities. On 22 March 1997, a woman Pickton had taken to his farm fought back when he tried to handcuff her. Pickton was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon, and forcible confinement.
- Arrest. In February 2002, a former truck driver for the Pickton family told the RCMP that he had seen illegal guns in Pickton’s home. The police were able to get a search warrant.

Oct 8, 2020 · Robert Pickton, who operated a pig farm in nearby Port Coquitlam, was charged with murdering 26 of the women. He was convicted on six charges and sentenced to life in prison. In a jail cell conversation with an undercover police officer, Pickton claimed to have murdered 49 women.
