Marie Darrieussecq (born 3 January 1969, Bayonne) is a French writer. She is also a translator, and has practised as a psychoanalyst. Her books explore the unspoken and abandoned territories in literature. Her work is dense, marked by a constant renewal of genres and registers.

Marie Darrieussecq was born on January 3, 1969. She was raised in a small village in the Basque Country. While finishing her PhD in French Literature, she wrote her first novel, Truismes (Pig Tales) which was published in September 1996 by Paul Otchakovsky-Laurens (POL), who have published all her subsequent novels as well.

Marie Darrieussecq est une écrivaine française. Elle a été élevée dans un petit village du Pays basque auquel elle est très attachée. Elle intègre l’ENS en 1990 et poursuit ses études de littérature à Paris III et Paris VII.
