January 14, 2011 [2] José Moreno Hernández (born August 7, 1962) is a Mexican-American engineer [3] and astronaut. He currently serves as a Regent of the University of California. Hernández flew on the Space Shuttle mission STS-128 in August 2009. He also served as chief of the Materials and Processes branch of Johnson Space Center.
Hernández received the 2016 National Hispanic Hero Award presented by the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute. , José Hernández continues his long history in the field of engineering and space. 1986 U.C.
