Apr 5, 2014 · The actor and writer Glyn Idris Jones has died at the age of 82. Jones was one of a select group who not only wrote for Doctor Who but also appeared in it. Born in Durban in South Africa, Jones trained as an actor, touring the country with the National Theatre Company.

On arriving in England, he took a job with The Sunday Times, then Kemsley Newspapers, and started writing plays in his spare time.
