Γεννήθηκε στη Λευκάδα το 1904, όπου και ολοκλήρωσε τις εγκύκλιες σπουδές του. Στη συνέχεια φοίτησε στη Νομική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών και παράλληλα στη Δραματική Σχολή του Εθνικού Ωδείου.
