    Alex Datcher (born 6 June 1962; age 61) is an actress who played Ensign Taitt in the Star Trek: The Next Generation seventh season episode "Descent, Part II". She was born as Cynthia Alex Datcher in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

    Datcher made her first television appearance in an episode of Beauty and the Beast alongside Ron Perlman, Stephen McHattie, and Edward Laurence Albert. She made her film debut two years later in action drama Rage and Honor, co-starring Brian Thompson and Tim de Zarn. Later in 1992, she had the female lead part in the thriller Passenger 57, with Robert Hooks (whose son directed the film).

    Following her appearance on Star Trek, she had guest spots on such television series as Sliders (starring Jerry O'Connell and John Rhys-Davies), The Pretender (with Harve Presnell), Brimstone (with Louise Fletcher and Albert Hall), The Steve Harvey Show (with James Ingersoll), and Any Day Now (with Joan Pringle). Additionally, she and Scott Grimes were regulars on UPN's Goode Behavior, which ran during the 1996-97 season; and had a recurring role on 8 Wheels of Justice, during which she worked with the likes of Carlos LaCamara and Gavan O'Herlihy. Datcher also appeared in the films Jury Duty (1995, with Charles Napier, Richard Riehle, Mark L. Taylor, and Sean Whalen) and Scorcher (2002, with Frank Novak, John Rhys-Davies and Mark Rolston).

    More recently, Datcher had guest parts in episodes of The Tracy Morgan Show (2003) and Night Stalker (2006, with Gabrielle Union), featured roles in Checking Out (2005, with Tony Todd, David Bowe, and Jasmine Jessica Anthony) and in the short comedy Law & Order: Sport Utility Vehicle (2006, with Mark Chaet) and appeared in television commercials for Sprint and Earthlink (2004).
